Nelson Mandela – Sports – IOC

International Olympic Committee (IOC), in recognition of the monumental services to the cause of sports, by the late Nelson Mandela, must honour him by designing the medals with the picture of Nelson Mandela, to be awarded during the next summer Olympics.

And as a befitting tribute to Nelson Mandela’s services for the sports, the next Olympics should also be named as “Nelson Mandela Olympic Games”.

In this regard, it will not be out of place to quote a statement of Nelson Mandela on sports.

Quote. “Sport has the power to change the world…it has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does. It speaks to youth in a language they understand. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair. It is more powerful than government in breaking down racial barriers.” Unquote.

Creating a life you can’t wait to live is experienced by living with genuine passion, striving for peak performance, and fulfilling one’s purpose.

I don’t care what the field of endeavour is—sports, business, science, medicine, education, ministry, public service—I don’t believe that anyone will perform at his or her peak without passion. Life’s too tough to get to the top without passion. You’re going to fail, be taken advantage of, be disappointed by people you trust, disappoint yourself, run out of resources—almost every day you’re going to encounter a good, solid, logical reason why you ought to give up. And without passion, you just might. That’s why passion is the prerequisite for peak performance.
Peak performance is dependent on passion, grit, determination, and a willingness to do something poorly until you can do it well. True peak performance is influenced by the condition of your physical, spiritual, business and family life.

The third part of the equation—purpose—is something I have come to believe is a key to the whole dynamic of motivation.

I’ve met people all through my life who had passion of a sort. But because their passion wasn’t fueled by purpose, it would come and go in bits and pieces. They were trying to generate their passion out of their own energy day after day, something that’s ultimately unsustainable. Scientists have yet to invent the world’s first perpetual-motion machine— everything runs down or runs out of gas eventually, including human beings trying to maximize their peak performance day after day.

I believe this book can help motivate you to connect the dots in life, little by little. The end result will be a picture of beauty, purpose and fulfillment—a life you can’t wait to live.

Can Pakistan Produce One Legend Like Steve Jobs?

Yes we can, we have not one but two persons, who can deliver to the nation and the world even more than Steve Jobs, provided they are given the government patronage, proper atmosphere and opportunity for R&D in IT sector; and they are Mr. Umar Saif, world renowned IT genius guru and Chairman PITB and Mr. Jibran Asghar, an IT (software) genius of Pakistan, working for the last 10 years in Bern, Switzerland.

If we watch the Movie “Jobs” which is based on the story of Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple Computer Inc., is a life story of how the Apple Computer Inc. came into being.

It is a story of a man driven by his brilliance. It was as if he knew his life was short and he was given this gift and ordered to fulfill it.

In that quest he failed to make friends, gave up old friends, did not amass wealth, lived a simple life, took some controversial actions that were wrongly interpreted. Yet, he managed to create an enterprise that was valued as the most valuable company in the world.

In that process he made thousands of Millionaires and lifted hundreds of families from abject poverty to a life of affluence.

His mantra was simple, give the people something that they have never used but be honest when you offer that. The net result was he generated an unparalleled following.

Apple sold less cell phones than most of the worlds brands, but made many times more revenue than any other cell phone company. The reason, people trusted Apple to provide the best. Then sacrificed (some even sold their body organs) to obtain their product at any price. Apple delivered what it promised.

That is how legends are made.

I am a Thai national. While living in my country, I have read various humanity-serving international charity organizations. I had great desire to visit Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital due to its fame all over the world. Fortunately, I got the chance to visit Pakistan. It was a wonderful experience of my life to visit Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital.

I was amazed to see state-of-the-art facilities being provided by Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital to the needy and poor, specially the handling of kid patients during chemo procedure. All its departments are fully equipped with modern facilities and offered great care by medical and other staff. The hospital has offered me an unforgettable experience.

Lastly, I hoped that my donation will benefit cancer patients for their free treatment. I congratulate people of Pakistan for establishing such a humanitarian project. VORADA CHAROENSUK Thailand

America Honours Boxer Amir Khan – Pakistan Government Waiting?

As reported on a T.V. Channel, British born Pakistani boxer Mr. Amir Khan, who won in July 2011 world boxing light welterweight championship title at LAS VEGAS, by defeating Zab Judah, has been honoured by President Barack Obama with a dinner at White House, which was also attended by the Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and many other specially invited Muslim sportsmen.

Here in Pakistan, we are still awaiting decision from the government on a suggestion (Link:- https://www.snayyar.com/pride-of-performance-for-amir-khan-world-boxing-light-welterweight-champion.html), for awarding Pride of Performance to Mr. Amir Khan who brought so much joy, happiness and pride to the Pakistanis in particular and Muslims all over the world, by lifting  world boxing light welterweight championship title, while specially wearing green and white Pakistani national colour.

Come on Mr. Asif Ali Zardari and Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani act quickly, lest you may miss this golden opportunity to act according to the wishes of the billions of Muslims world over and win their hearts.

Pakistani Shahzadi Is Iconic Figure

Pakistani police officer Shahzadi Gulfam, serving in a UN peace operation, has received the 2011 International Female Police Peacekeeper Award. Shahzadi holds the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police and is the first Pakistani female officer to receive this award. She is deployed in the UN Mission in Timor-Leste as the UN Police (UNPOL) Team Leader in the Timor-Leste National Police Vulnerable Persons Unit in Dili.

Nuclear Catastrophe – How to save humanity & planet earth by using thorium in nuclear reactors

A ferocious tsunami unleashed by Japan’s biggest recorded earthquake slammed into its eastern coast Friday, killing hundreds of people as it carried away ships, cars and homes, and triggered widespread fires that burned out of control.

An 8.9 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Northeast Japan spawned a ferocious tsunami that’s caused massive destruction; flattening whole cities, starting raging fires, and killing hundreds.

Nearly 88,000 people are reported missing, according to the official Kyodo news agency. Nuclear experts said the solutions being proposed to quell radiation leaks at the Daiichi nuclear plant in Fukushima were last-ditch efforts to stem what could well be remembered as one of the world’s worst industrial disasters.

Situation has turned so grave that workers were ordered to withdraw briefly from a stricken Japanese nuclear power plant on Wednesday after radiation levels surged, Kyodo news reported, a development that suggested the crisis was spiraling out of control.

Now it is high time that world must wake up for launching a campaign of getting rid of ALL nuclear reactors from the face of the Earth, before another major catastrophe hits in some other country after Japan.

Now this issue has become a matter of life and death for the humanity. UN Secretary General must immediately summon a meeting of the Security Council to chalk out a unified strategy to combat the menace of nuclear radiation from destroying the life from the face of the Earth.

In this regard, as a first step towards making planet earth safe and free from accidents at nuclear reactors, which produce electricity using uranium/plutonium as a fuel, the world leadership must also look into the possibility of using ONLY thorium, as a fuel for producing electricity from nuclear reactors.

Unlike current nuclear power stations, that use uranium, the thorium plant won’t use a material that can be weaponised. It would also mean there is much less danger from a meltdown. Thorium is also more abundant than uranium, so it will be cheaper and easier to supply.

The safer material means it can be supplied at a lower cost with far fewer security needs. Security measures are actually the most expensive part about building current nuclear power stations. Thorium reactors, on the other hand, don’t require special containment buildings and can even be set up in normal structures.

The proposed thorium reactor is made to run by itself without any need for intervention. It will only need to be checked by a person once every four months.

Since thorium reactors are far safer than current nuclear reactors there has been talk of miniaturising them so a $1000 unit could power a ten house street for a lifetime.
