No Country After Death..!

After sixty six years, Pakistan is a more fragmented society than our forefathers could have ever imagined. The schism is so intense that if immediate corrective steps are not taken, God forbid, this country may see even more turbulent times.

Writing on the wall is clear for all to read. The decadence of Pakistani society, in every sphere of life, be it political, economical, educational, industrial, agricultural, religious, law and order or any other segment worth naming, is abysmal, to say the least. Hardly, any day passes without reports of suicides committed by the poor due to the economic hardships. Children are dying in scores due to the Measles out break and strangely enough, no soul has moved and not even a single person has been held accountable.

May be, we have one last chance to stem the rot, to unite the people and to give them a prescription, to rise again and build the nation from the ashes, because for the overwhelming majority, a time is coming that they will be forced to think “no life no nation”.

All stakeholders must wake up, as the nation is moving towards destruction; our survival is directly linked with the existence of our nationhood. Nationhood means “The state or quality of having a status as separate and independent nation”.

Hence, for all the Pakistanis, failure is NOT an option. But success is also not automatically guaranteed, as well.

In this regard, I would like to suggest that, let us formulate a new social contract (specially designed for the 95 percent have-nots; specially, NOT like the budget planned for 2013-14 which failed to tax the super rich on one pretext or the other) for the common people of Pakistan, who always pay 100 percent bills and taxes and never default on their bank loans. Let us make a new Pakistan, which is redesigned to practically cater to the needs of the exploited masses.

Changes must be made in the constitution to block corrupt land owners and power hungry charlatans from contesting the elections. The election system should also be changed, so that the whole country directly votes for a President or a PM. However, before the voting, the candidates of all the political parties for this post, must notify a list of their MPA’s, MNA’s and Senators, who will be automatically considered elected, according to the percentage of votes cast, in favour of the main candidate, for the top post of the country.

The decision for Pakistan’s charter of development for building dams and mega projects for the next fifty years, should also be finalised, on which later on, no politics should be allowed. In other words, the entire representatives of the nation should decide NOW, where they would like to see Pakistan, in each and every field of life, after 5×10 = 50 years. The development goals must be clearly defined for 10 five year plans.

In order to decentralise and empower maximum number of people, to enjoy the fruits of self rule, we should convert every division of Pakistan into a province. This will also work as a panacea for the eradication of linguistic and any other type of frictions; and doubts about hegemony of people, of certain big areas, over the people of other smaller areas. In fact, it will work wonders, in the speedy development and unity of Pakistan and kill instantly, any secessionist or separatist activities currently prevailing in some parts of the country.

  • Muhammad Ali:

Syed Nayyar Uddin Ahmad Sahib what you have eluded to, makes sense partially but certainly not 100%. Pakistani nation is passing through difficult times like other developing countries of the world. Its the leadership that makes nation to take pride in its identity. Our identity is well acknowledged having sacrificed 40,000 dead from an age of one day baby to 90 year old men & women, besides injury to 75,000 people while fight a WAR AGAINST TERRORISM TO MAKE REST OF THE WORLD SLEEP IN PEACE. So please don’t be dejected and disappointed. This nation has tremendous resilience and can stand on its feet in shortest possible time. Such like comments of yours and I quote ” Fragmented society, writing on the wall, may be last chance to stem the rot, nation is moving towards destruction etc etc” unquote, makes me upset as we are not that bad too. What constitutional changes you have talked about make sense but I don’t foresee these amendments getting through in the near future. But certainly as the political maturity grows so will be the progression. We are moving at turtle’s pace to learn from our past follies and checkered history some imposed by the vested interest and some as a result of self seeker politicians who got Pakistan as a piece of cake on partition. This election has given us an opportunity and to our political leadership as well to illuminate the tunnel that had remained in dark either due to our errs or while sacrificing for the world by fighting war against terrorism. Its sad that our great friend USA left us in lurch after the downfall of Russian forces in Afghanistan without stabilizing that country. Hence it fell in the hands of war lords that were pampered by CIA in connivance with ISI to participate to fight the Russians in the name of Jihad. Had the US placed a governing structure in Afghanistan before leaving way back 90s, the unfortunate incident of 9/11 would have taken place. After the sad demise of our founding fathers late Quaid e Azam Muhammad ali Jinnah & Mr Liaqat Ali Khan (who was assassinated by vested interest), we are still trying to stabilize ourselves. Pakistan is our soul and our life. We are nothing without our identity and we all in our own way must contribute to make it stronger and well bonded nation. Its a country that is full of resources and for the kind information of all friends who will be reading your analysis must know that Pakistan’s global ranking in commodity production is…..it stands number 1 in salt, 2nd in meat, 3rd in milk, 4th in cotton, mangoes, sugar cane, 5th in copper and 6th in coal. Besides our global ranking in agriculture is…number 1 in fresh buffalo milk, 2nd in wheat, 3rd in cotton lint, 4th in fresh cow milk, 5th in rice paddy, 6th in cattle meat, 7th in sugar cane and host of other areas. We are the 5th nuclear power. So the problem is mismanagement and God willing with time things will get better. So don’t lose hope and take pride that we are fighting against the menace of corruption and foreign interventions who would not like Pakistan to get prosperous. I will just end by saying that what sense does it makes for India to have SIX consulates in Afghanistan………located right in the border towns of Afghanistan that are perilously closed to Pakistan where the population is just in few 100s, or 1000s or economic activity is not even 01 % ……………it makes it very simple to draw conclusions. Rest assure that Indians will never succeed in their nefarious designs. They will pay a heavy price in case our patience is over stretched. Peace is the best option and both the countries should forget past and look for the future for getting rid of poverty from this region and demoralizing analysis bring more hatred of all.
