Hail to the PCB !!!
It is earnestly hoped that those at the helm of the affairs of the PCB, must now know the worth of the nincompoop PCB selectors, who decided not to select Anwer Ali in the Test team.
Anwar Ali scored 41 not out, and was the 2rd highest scorer (Hafeez’s 41 was scored with an SR of 73.21), in the Pakistani innings, with highest strike rate of 107.89. 2nd highest SR (106.25) was of Ahmad Shahzad.
Here, we must not forget that Anwer Ali was declared the man of the match, due to his sterling performance in his 1st ODI match, played against the Proteas, in South Africa. Later on, the collective wisdom of the PCB touring selection committee, headed by the most genius cricketer, ever produced by the country Mr. Moin Khan, didn’t see any worth in Anwer Ali, for giving him the chance of playing in the ODI series, till the last match of the tour, where is performance was really some thing to sing about.
We must not also forget that the TV commentators of the Geo Super TV, were so impressed with the fielding abilities of Anwer Ali (who performed the duties of the 12th man in the 4 ODI’s) during the whole series that he was called the “super substitute fielder”.
Hail to the PCB and all its wise men, who must be jumping with joy up to the moon, for securing a 3-2 grand ODI series victory vs the Sri Lankan team.
Last but not the least, the tour management committee is so myopic that it didn’t even consider using Umar Gul (who had to under go knee surgery) very sparingly, lest he may not sustain the post surgery pressure, with February 2014, Asia ODI Cup, March 2014 T20 World Cup and the 2015 ODI World Cup, mega tournaments matches in sight. One wonders when will the strategic thinking will dawn on the PCB charlatans.

What a slap on the face of those in PCB, who decided not to select Anwer Ali in the Test team.

To Manage Well, Get Out of the Way
Management, like payroll and sales, is becoming another function to facilitate the work of the technically and creatively skilled people who do the heavy lifting. We need managers, not because people need a boss, but because people need someone to resolve the issues that are stopping them from doing their work. Managers aren’t ball carriers. They’re running interference for the ball carriers. In the world of minimally invasive management, managers have three primary jobs: they need to hire, they need to develop and serve their people, and they need to fire. But most of the time, managers need to get out of the way and let people do their work.

Flawed Selection of Pakistan’s Test Team.
Botched selection of the Pakistani team for the Test matches against Sri Lanka.
The non selection of Anwer Ali and Suhaib Maqsood, in the team for the Tests, is not only mind boggling but a baffling decision of the collective wisdom of the PCB, as well.
Anwer Ali is miles ahead of Rahat Ali and Muhammad Talha, in batting, fielding and swing bowling combined. In fact, at the moment, he is the best all rounder, available for selection. Last night the TV commentators were calling him by the name of “super sub” for his excellent fielding performances in the ODI matches.
Similarly, the non selection of Suhaib Maqsood is also a most stupid decision. He is a much better and accomplished batsman than Khurram Manzoor, Shan Masood, Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq, who have been selected ahead of him.
Any future Test match is a very serious matter, because of the applicability of the ranking system, for the Test matches Championship, to be played in the year 2017.
We have no chance to allow any incompetence or favouritism, in the selection of the best of the best players.
Now the Pakistani cricket fans earnestly requests to the H’able PM of Pakistan, to issue necessary orders to the PCB, to immediately include Suhaib Maqsood and Anwer Ali in the Test team, selected to play the 3 Tests vs Sri Lanka.

Beware Starting a Company with Your Business School Pals
Sure, some B-school partnerships work, but for every successful startup there are hundreds more that quietly combust. Consider these common pitfalls before starting a business with a B-school friend:
Sharing the same work history. Many MBA students have experience in investment banking, private equity, or consulting, but a successful start-up requires professionals with entirely different kinds of perspectives and expertise — for example, a technologist with the technical skill to build a worthwhile product, and a product person with a solid handle on entering the market.
Not sharing the same values. It’s tempting to assume you hold similar values as your friends, but unless you’re asking each other very tough, pointed questions, each of your values may be unknown — and there is no more fertile ground for conflict than a fundamental mismatch of values.
