Keep Learning from Your Protégés

The value of a mentorship isn’t just for your protégé — answering questions that younger people ask can help you clarify your own thinking. As you talk about what it means to be an executive, you’ll get a second chance to learn why you do things the way you do and what assumptions drive your actions. Your answers will force you to be explicit about the embedded rules and mental models you’ve been using to make decisions, reinforcing what you now know. This second-time-around learning turns good managers into great ones. While you impart new knowledge and perspectives to your mentees, you will also gain deeper insight into your own work.

Adapted by HBR from the HBR Guide to Getting the Mentoring You Need.

The Unpardonable Crime of Pervaiz Musharraf..!

Let the former President/CEO/COAS Mr. Pervaiz Musharraf, now ask the US about the issue of the US Senator siding with the Baloch terrorists and talking against the territorial integrity of Pakistan; because it was Mr. Musharraf, who made a nuclear power nation, look like a banana republic x 0.

When Mr. Nawaz Sharif was the PM last time and the US attacked OBL in Afghanistan, Bill Clinton personally APOLOGISED for a missile, which fell in the then NWFP province, which is now called KPK province.

And after that, what happened was that leave aside the US, even Afghanistan, which didn’t have a regular army, attacked with impunity and killed and beheaded our soldiers; so much so, that even the Taliban, had the guts in the Musharraf era, to force our HUNDREDS of troops to surrender; and made them prisoners.

Remember, in the realm of the world politics, power is nothing, its perception is everything; and if this factor is removed from the minds of the Pakistan’s enemies, just like what Pervaiz Musharraf did, then others treat, even the nuclear power country, as a dud power.

In my opinion, this crime of Pervaiz Musharraf i.e., removing the fear of a nuclear Pakistan from the hearts and minds of our enemies, is more GRAVE, than his crimes of the subversion of the constitution and imposition of the Martial Law.

No ruler including the NS, is my relative. My only relation is with Pakistan.

So, when I say something about the deeds of Pervaiz Musharraf, it doesn’t mean that I am a pro PPP, PMLN, PTI, JI or the MQM.

Yes, my 100% bias is towards PAKISTAN.

You can always count on Americans to do the right thing – after they’ve tried everything else.

I wish this was also not a world record that a
CEO/President/COAS, of a nuclear power country, admitted in his own book that he sold his subjects for few pennies, to a super power, in lieu of just getting stamp of legitimacy of his government, from that super power.

Exactly 30 days ago on 3 Jan. 2014, our former President, former CEO of Pakistan and the Ex. COAS Gen. (R) Pervaiz Musharraf was admitted in the AFIC hospital.

I hope some learned person can confirm if this was a world record, for 30 days hospitalisation of a man, without any surgery?
