Clarion call to Imran Khan..!

20 May 2019
Subject:- Most Urgent Matter – Players selection can still be amended by 23 May 2019..!

Respected Mr. Imran Khan Sahab.
PM Pakistan & Patron in Chief PCB,

AoA.

Sir,

ODI ICC cricket World Cup is a life time event. Never ever in any sports World Cup history, the PM of a country has been a captain of its national team, which won the World Cup, except Mr. Imran Khan.

Now, Pakistan has yet another rare chance of winning the ICC ODI 2019 World Cup under the Prime Ministership of the same legendary cricketing hero, who won them World Cup, exactly after 27 years.

As such, we should leave no stone unturned in our efforts to win the CWC19.

In this regard, there should be no margin of error in selection of our team.

Today the team announced by the Chief Selector of PCB has all the ingredients of winning TEST matches, but has extremely remote chances to outclass all the top nine other One Day International teams of the world, to win the World Cup.

In this connection, you are earnestly requested to please reconsider (as suggested below players fit specifically for ODI games and NOT for the Test matches) the selection of players for the Pakistani World Cup team, for which we only have time to amend our team list by 23rd May 2019.

Huge selection blunders needs immediate intervention of the higher ups:

1. Fakhar Zaman [On the basis of his performance vs England his choice is OK]

2. Imamul Haq [Test version player. Abid Ali should have been a highly deserving choice]

3. Asif Ali Correct selection

4. Mohammad Hafeez [Undeserving choice. Ehsan Ali should have been a much better inclusion in the team]

5. Babar Azam. Automatic selection choice.

6. Sarfaraz Ahmed (captain) OK

7. Haris Sohail [No way he should be in the CWC19 team. Zeeshan Ashraf was a much more deserving case]

8. Shoaib Malik [Undeserving selection. On sheer and pure merit Muhammad Rizwan automatically replaces him in the team]

9. Imad Wasim [IM looks like a spent force. Muhammad Nawaz must under every circumstances be included in his place]

10. Shadab Khan OK

11. Hasan Ali OK

12. Shaheen Shah Afridi [Usman Shinwari is a much better bowler and fielder, as such, he has been unfairly overlooked]

13. Mohammad Amir [MA is neither fit nor performing. Haris Rauf would have been a much much better choice]

14. Wahab Riaz OK

15. Mohammad Hasnain [On the basis of his poor performance during the recently concluded series against England, he should have been immediately sent back home.Musa Khan should have replaced him without any doubt]

Best Regards,

Syed Nayyar Uddin Ahmad

Why Pakistani team lost the T20 match vs the England on 5 May 2019?

1. We played 38 dot balls in comparison with the English team’s 32 dot balls, meaning thereby that our team played one excess dot ball over; and in a T20 match, it’s a huge error or deficiency, which is a sure recipe for defeat.

2. Our team management showed a clear bias in favour of Imam ul Haq (Test match category player) who, as expected, miserably failed as an opener (he was looking very jittery).

Dropping Abid Ali proved that we lost the match even before it started. This type of attitude of our Head Coach and Captain is unacceptable, and still there is time for the PCB to intervene and change the Head Coach and Captain, who, by not coming for batting, himself proved that he was a load/dead weight for the team.

3. Today our fielding was was giving the look of a club team, playing an international match.

4. Our bowlers just got three wickets and really looked an ordinary unit, which is bound to be thrashed for over 400 runs in ODI matches vs the English team and in the World Cup. As such, Muhammad Nawaz or Omar Khan, Haris Rauf and Musa Khan needs immediate induction in the team, rather than PCB officially allowing the chief selector to watch from the dressing room, his nephew sinking our team to the abyss, with his Test match style batting in the ODI matches.

5. Still there was time to immediately induct the following high potential power hitters, which our team needs most urgently, specially, for chasing scores above 400.

– Muhammad Rizwan in place of Sarfaraz Ahmad and Babar Azam should be made the captain.

– Ehsan Ali in place of M Hafeez who has crossed shelf life.

– Suhail Akhtar in place of Imam ul Haq who is a Test match player and has no place in ODI matches.

– Zeeshan Ashraf in place of Shoaib Malik who seems to have been sent back to appear in a commercial advertisement.

Today’s T20 match was an eye opener and is clear writing on the wall, in bold words that PCB, it’s Selectors and the team management has apparently failed to select our World Cup team on merit, under the formula of horses for courses.

ICC CWC 2019 – Pak Team’s Road Map to Semifinals

ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2019 and Pakistani team’s prospects.

As per the format of the ICC CWC19 Pakistani team will be playing a total of nine matches in the tournament, before the decision of the four teams, which will be playing the semifinals.

According to the current rankings, our team is placed at sixth spot. And to enter the semifinals race, in the normal circumstances, we will have to win against all teams ranked 7th to 10th (BD, SL, WI and Afghanistan), plus the two of the five teams ranked from 1st to 5th positions i.e., England, India, New Zealand, South Africa and Australia.

This means that for our team’s qualification to the semifinals stage, we must win a minimum of six matches against the nine teams, we shall be playing, in the preliminary round.

However, going by the recent performances of our team, starting from September 2018, it looks that we can easily win against the teams of Sri Lanka and the West Indies and can also defeat with some extra efforts and share of luck, the teams of South Africa, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

This calculation leads to a situation where we further need a victory over one of the three teams of England, India, New Zealand and Australia.

Going by the current forms and reputation of these four teams we would be very lucky, if we beat New Zealand and enter the Semifinals.

Rest we should hope for the best, because in almost every high voltage ODI cricket match, generally the team which wins is the team which believes in the following maxim “You were born to win, but to be a winner, you must plan to win, prepare to win and expect to win.”

World Cup 2019 – Have we lost it before even it has started?

Respected Mr. Imran Khan Sahab.

AoA.

Sir,

With the announcement of Pakistani squad for the World Cup today, it was proved by the PCB that they are still living in the past and have no idea at which level the top cricketing nations have progressed in the ODI game.

Just for your information, the details of the top five highest ODI scores are provided as below:

Highest ODI Team Score in World Cricket
Team Against Score
England Australia 481/6
England Pakistan 444/3
Sri Lanka Netherlands 443/9
South Africa West Indies 439/2

World Cup 2019 – Selection Blunders of the PCB.

The details of the complete fiasco in selection of Pakistani CWC19 are explained as below:

Fakhar Zaman. (Absolutely wrong selection for the CWC19 due to his poor form. FZ regularly gets out on wrong selection of shots, which is a big blot on his performance and poor reflection over the capabilities of the coaches and the NCA management, for wasting a highly talented opening batsman. In fact, Fakhar Zaman’s constant slump in his form demands immediate removal of our batting and head coaches, along with the entire top management of the NCA).

Imam-ul-Haq:- (He is a Test match material forcefully thrust in the CWC squad, only due to the reasons, which has nothing to do with cricket. Nepotism, is a stipulated violation of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Sadly, no one, repeat no one, in the entire PCB set up from top to bottom, is aware that now we are in an age and era where 400+ runs in an ODI innings is becoming a norm, rather than an exception. These days 350 – 375 runs in an ODI innings is not at all a safe score. Under the circumstances, Test brand players like Imam ul Haq, Shoaib Malik, Haris Suhail and Sarfaraz Ahmad (who is sadly out of form) are hardly capable of taking team’s score to near about 275 runs (against Eng, India, NZ, SA & Australian teams).

Abid Ali:- Deserving case. However, it is the duty of the coaches to polish this brave-heart extremely talented player, so that he does not quickly fades, like Fakhar Zaman.

Babar Azam:- In fact, he deserves to be the captain of the team. He is the only player in the team who is an automatic choice for the CWC 19 squad.

Shoaib Malik and Muhammad
Hafeez:- Both these players are absolute relic of the past. When it is a known fact that a player has played his stint and is in his twilight age, you do not select him to just bestow the honour to have participated, in yet an another World Cup.

Sarfaraz Ahmed:- His past performances glaringly reflects that now a days, he is the most non-dependable batsman; and very low, on his confidence level. Resultantly, he was so afraid of his failure that he seems to have intentionally decided not to participate in the Pakistan Cup tournament,

Shadab Khan:- Deserving case.

Imad Wasim:- Deserving case. However, it should be noted and taken care of that the technical committee of the World Cup may not allow his replacement (in case of many years old knee injury aggravation) as ICC rules only allow replacement of a player, if he has suffered some fresh injury, during the period of the World Cup.

Hasan Ali:- Deserving case.

Faheem Ashraf:- Deserving case.

Shaheen Afridi:- Haris Rauf should have been selected in place of (S.A.) and it is earnestly requested to the Patron in Chief of the PCB to still order this correction in selection.

Junaid Khan:- Musa Khan should have been selected in place of (J.K) as M.K is a much higher class bowler, particularly, he can be very lethal in the English conditions. As such, it is earnestly requested to the Patron in Chief of the PCB to still order inclusion of this wonder bowler’s name in the squad for the CWC 19.

Mohammad Hasnain:- Deserving choice.

Haris Sohail:- Undeservedly selected as discussed above. Yes a good prospect for Test matches. If he (H.S) has to be selected then Asad Shafiq and Umar Amin should also be selected for the World Cup.

Muhammad Rizwan:- Non-Selection of this most valuable player (MVP) is the biggest BLUNDER of the PCB management and also an unpardonable crime. Therefore, it is earnestly requested to the Patron in Chief of the PCB to kindly order his (Muhammad Rizwan) immediate inclusion in the World Cup squad along with the inclusion of the following players, as well.

Most deserving swashbuckling and highly talented following three batsmen may also be included in the squad:

1. Suhail Akhtar
2. Ehsan Ali
3. Zeeshan Ashraf

Suhail Khan (best bowling all rounder in the local circuit who tore apart Aussie bowling in an ODI during last tour of our team to NZ & Australia)

Umer Khan:- Most highly rated young spinner of Pakistan.

Wahab Riaz and Ahmad Shahzad may also be announced as reserves for the World Cup squad.

Sir, concluding you are requested to please urgently and personally reconsider the Pakistani squad, so that our team is able to cross over two of the top five ranking teams i.e., England, India, New Zealand, South Africa and Australia so as a bare minimum achievement, Pakistani team is able to enter the second round of the World Cup (with three other teams) to straightaway play the semi final of the tournament.

How NOT to win the World Cup..!

Subject:- Albert Einstein said that insanity is doing the same thing over and over without any change and expecting different results.

Dear Mr. Imran Khan Sahab.

AoA.

Sir,

Without urgent changes in our team’s coaches & captain, we should forget about winning the ODI WC 2019.

Out of the last 10 ODI matches (for latest figures add 5-0 abject surrender on home ground vs Aussies in March 2019) our team won only 2 matches (20%) & Sarfaraz Ahmad scored 292 runs of 17 innings in 13 months of (2018-19) averaging 24+ with 5 not outs.

In this regard, during the recently held Asian Cup tournament played in the UAE in September 2018, our team got unforgettable thrashing from the Indian B team (Virat Kohli was not playing) which defeated our hapless team in a manner, margin and style which may be very difficult to forget, detailed as below:
On 19 September 2018 (Mr. Ehsan Mani took over PCB on 4 September 2018) India defeated Pakistan with 8 wickets by bowling out our team for 162 runs in just 43.1 overs and achieved the target in ONLY 29 overs.

(Please read detailed analysis dated 20 September 2018 of this match given below as Annex-A and a write up dated 22 September 2018 titled “Why our lions have become lambs” as Annex-B.)

In the second match played on 23 September 2018 Pakistan scored 237/7 in 50 overs which was over hauled by the Indians in 39.3 overs by just losing one wicket and won the match with 63 balls to spare, as if, it was not a Pakistani winner of Champions Trophy team, but a team from Afghanistan or Hong Kong.

My short comments dated 23 September 2018 after losing the above mentioned match vs India, are reproduced below for your kind perusal please.

Quote:
High time for head coach and captain to quit for turning Pakistani lions into lambs..!

Today the main reason for a low/disappointing score of our team was that we played 175 dot balls (29.1 overs) out of 300 balls (50 overs).

In first 10 overs of our innings when only 2 fielders are allowed outside the 30 yards circle, we scored only 28 runs against Indian score of 53 runs. (Our teams battery of coaches and selectors got further improvement in the teams performance when our team scored 21 runs repeat ONLY 21 runs in the first 10 power play overs vs the Aussies in one of the matches of the recently played five matches series played in the UAE)
Test match strategy, planning and mindset can never work in an ODI game, where name of the game is attack, innovation, positive approach in team selection, batting, bowling, fielding and staying one step ahead of the opponent’s game plan and strategy.”

Unquote.

Respected Imran Khan Sahab, although, being the Prime Minister it is too much to request you to indulge in the nitty gritty of cricket affairs, yet, the next ODI World Cup is too serious an affair to be left with the current PCB management (set up which only has one mantra on their lips that coaches and selectors can’t be changed before the World Cup), which may be very much sincere with their job, but it looks reclaiming World Cup for Pakistan, is too big a task for them, for which they have somehow been in an INERTIA, since September last; and very clearly, it is visible that they look AFRAID of media, in making bold and corrective decisions, in the larger interest of Pakistani cricket.

Moreover, the current management of the PCB can’t even say that now it was too late to make changes in the team, because given below are written proofs (Annex- A & B) that they were duly warned, way back in September 2018. It looks that the PCB’s management had decided to maintain status quo, as their cardinal policy, but the problem with this status quo policy is, that you end pleasing none and are held responsible for the ultimate failure of the task, originally given to you.

In view of the foregoing, you are once again (for the last time) requested to takeover the reigns of the PCB in your own hands and urgently intervene for a vital course correction, so that Babar Azam or any person you think is a captain material and has a confirmed place in the team & from Javed Miandad/Aquib Javed/Mohsin Hasan Khan/Amir Suhail/Moin Khan/Dean Jones (for Head Coach) may be considered for these positions with a cut out task to bring the World Cup back, under your leadership, otherwise forget about even reaching the semi finals stage.

[Analysis of India vs Pakistan match played on 20 September 2018]
Disaster at Dubai..!
The total capitulation of Pakistan’s cricket team in the match played on 19 September 2018 at Dubai cricket stadium versus the Indian team must be taken positively for immediate corrective action before the start of the ICC ODI World Cup just after eight months time.
Victories and defeats are part of the game, but abject surrender is not acceptable, for which responsibility must be fixed and heads should roll.
In today’s India vs Pakistan match played at Dubai our entire team just scored 162 runs (which is not even a decent T20 match score) in 43.1 overs, which was easily overtaken by the Indian team in 29 overs for the loss of only two wickets.
The story of most shameful performance by our team is also very aptly reflected by the following statistics of dot balls played by our team:
Total balls of the Pakistani innings = 259 balls or 43.1 overs.
Total dot balls played by our team = 159 balls.
When a team plays almost 62% dot balls then DOUBTS about their capabilities, abilities and INTENTIONS are always raised.
Above all, this pathetic situation also demands ruthless accountability of all concerned who are associated with our team, particularly the captain and the team of coaches.
It is earnestly hoped that the new management of the PCB headed by Mr. Ehsan Mani also knows that the head coach of our team has never played a Test match in his cricketing career.
With this team management and the captain, it will be extremely difficult for our team to even move to the second round in the ODI World Cup schedule to start in May 2019 in England.
It is a timely wake up call for everyone concerned in the PCB, who were living in a false sense of comfort, after defeating Zimbabwe 5-0 in the ODI series, not realising that it was not even their C level team, due to the absence of six main players from the Zimbabwean Team.
This head coach and captain may not be the best choice for being retained till the next ODI World Cup. Especially, the captain who has unfortunately very badly failed to lead the team by example and from the front.
Mr. Aamir Suhail, considering that he is the best person available in the country, who possesses exceptional qualities of observing and correcting technical flaws of our players regarding batting, bowling, fielding, leadership and strategy matters; should be immediately appointed as head coach (and for any reason if it is not possible) then he should be appointed as team director, who should be the boss of the entire contingent of players, head coach, manager and all touring support staff.
If Mr. Aamir Suhail is appointed as the Team Director, may be there will be no need to replace the captain of the team; as under his mentorship, Sarfaraz Ahmad most probably will overcome his batting and leadership deficiencies, as well. Thus, leaving no need to find alternate player, as captain of the team.

22 September 2018
Why our lions have become lambs..!
The best way for the new management of the PCB, to not to win the ICC ODI World Cup 2019 is to remain in inertia; and carry on with the present set up, without any change..
However, then a question will be asked that if everything of the past management was satisfactory, then why its chairman was removed?
Nevertheless, the pathetic performance ( being displayed during the ongoing Asia Cup matches) of the product of the previous management of the PCB (players and coaching staff) leaves much to be desired from the new management of the PCB.
Entire coaching staff of our team has miserably failed in delivering (despite very high salaries) along-with captain and the players, who seems to have totally lost their flair of the game and passion for victory: which was clearly visible with the Afghan players, many of whom were seen crying, after losing a nail biting match against our team.
Keeping in view that the ODI world cup is almost around the corner, Shoaib Malik should be immediately appointed captain of the Pakistani cricket team for all the three formats; and a power hitter wicket keeper batsman inducted in place of Sarfaraz Ahmad, who unfortunately, seems to have passed his shelf life; and because of his non-performance, the team has also lost its balance.
The difficulty, with which our team won the match against Afghan team, is not at all a good omen. Even otherwise also, Sarfaraz was originally appointed captain by Mr. Shahryar Khan, by default.
It is again reiterated that our head coach and bowling, batting and fielding coaches must be immediately replaced, because they have turned our players from lions to lambs.
Just look at the hugely declining performances of our fast bowlers including Muhammad Aamir and batsmen including Fakhar and Sarfaraz.
About the declining standards of our fielding, it’s low level during our yesterday’s match against the Afghan team, said it all.
As such, the new management of the PCB is advised that they must not wait for the corrective actions, till after the World Cup.
Pakistan has to win the 2019 ODI world cup in England, which at the moment, with the current lot of coaches and players, looks like a distant possibility.
After the recent change over in the PCB, it looks the new management is acting on a go slow and wait and watch policy.
PCB has to be proactive and must take immediate remedial steps.
Our team badly needs a leader who can inspire, motivate and lead players from his own performances.
Our team also needs immediate induction of power hitters (like Suhail Akhtar) and an accomplished all rounder.
We also need a new coaching staff which can also study the weak points of opponent players and guide our players to modify bowling and batting strategy according to the weak and strong points of the opponent players.
In view of the foregoing, the new set up of the PCB should come into action immediately, postponing the honeymoon period, till after the World Cup is won by our team.
Good luck for Mr. Ehsan Mani in re-vamping the PCB.

Mr. PM this is to remind your promise of transparency & accountability..!

It has not been checked, but someone was telling that this Special Audit of PSL 1&2, as reported and link given below of 9 April 2019 publication by the daily “The News” conducted by the AGP’s office, has compiled serious financial discrepancies in PSL 1&2, amounting to approximately Rs.2 billion.

Similarly, the Special Audit of the PCB, conducted by the office of the AGP in 2017, is also understood to have unearthed huge and amazing financial and administrative irregularities of astronomical proportions, but this report, although, a public property, has not yet seen the light of the day, as well.

Now, the question arises that why the two key members of the BoG of the PCB [CFO & the Audit Committee specially the Head of the Audit Committee] kept mum in the all BoG meetings, over these huge financial matters/irregularities and on the false open media statements of the then Chairman PSL that the external Audit of PSL 1 & 2 has been done, whereas, it was very well known to these two persons (CFO & the Head Audit Committee) that no external Audit of PSL 1&2 was ever even allowed; and Pakistani public was being told a white lie.

In fact, PCB only decided to allow external Audit of the PSL accounts starting from PSL3 (veracity of this can’t be vouched, because it was told by a high ranking official of the PCB).

In view of the foregoing, when no one concerned in the government and the PCB is ready to share with the public, the contents of the above mentioned three Audit Reports [1. Special Audit Report of the PCB of 2017 and (2&3.) Special Audit Reports of PSL1&2 conducted in 2018) the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Imran Khan, who is Patron in Chief of the PCB as well, is requested in the name of his promise of no compromise ever in the Accountability and the Transparency; to forward these cases of the three Special Audit Reports of the PCB & the PSL’s financial and administrative irregularities to the chairman NAB, for its own impartial, but fast track inquiry/investigations.

However, till such time the NAB is processing these cases of the PCB, no concerned PCB officials and the concerned BoG members, be allowed to leave the country.

ICC ODI Would Cup-2019 and inertia of PCB..!

How to win the ODI World Cup 2019?

Dear Mr. Imran Khan Sahab.

AoA.

Sir,

In the first ODI at Sharjah vs the Australian cricket team, our boys lost the script in the first 10 overs of the power play, when only two fielders can field outside the 30 meters circle, with highly docile Test style batting, when they accumulated only 40 runs, whereas, in the last power power play of 10 overs, when five fielders are allowed outside the circle, our aggressive batting resulted in scoring 86 runs.

The above analysis proves that Imam up Haq and Shan Masood are NOT the material or horses for the opening batsmen’s slot for the ODI version of cricket. They can not take us to any success in the ODI World Cup matches, because the above named two batsmen are not capable of scoring 90+ runs in the first power play, even if, they are given opportunity to bat twice in an innings.

In this regard, despite PCB having given an uninterrupted looong free run, our selectors and so called team management (which also includes senior staff of NCA Lahore) have badly failed to produce three or four deserving openers for the ODI World Cup; and at the end of the day, Test openers are being wrongly been asked to perform the duties of the openers of the ODI games.

Mr. Prime Minister, you in your days as a playing cricketer always said and implemented the idea that in a playing eleven, every player has a specialised role, which in other words meant selecting horses for courses.

Under the circumstances, when another highly disappointing World Cup 2019 performance (just the ODI world Cup 2015) is writ large on the faces of top managers of the NCA, Selectors and the team management personnel, who get fatly paid by the PCB, the following questions must be asked by the new management of the PCB, to decide any emergent steps of changes, particularly, in the team management and in the team, as well, to salvage the situation for the ODI World Cup 2019:

NCA (High Performance Center of Excellence):

~Why no openers were groomed and polished for the World Cup who could score 90+ runs in the first power play?

~Why no power hitters produced, groomed and polished for the World Cup?

~ Why no genuine all rounders produced for the World Cup?

~ Why no fitness plan developed and implemented for the World Cup players, whereas, many of our players are looking visibly overweight and unfit; and no batsman is fit enough to run for five runs on his shot and medium pacers are bowling even below the 130 KMPH speed.

Selectors, Coaches and Captain Sarfaraz Ahmad:

~Why Shan Masood was included in the ODI team for South Africa, when he was not given a single chance to show his performance for the World Cup?

~Why Imam ul Haq given another chance against the Australian team when he was given due chances to play in all the five ODI matches in South Africa?

~ Why Rizwan was taken on tours but not given any chances?

~ If Shan Masood and Imam ul Haq have been tried from Test to ODI games why Sami Aslam and Fawad Alam has been ignored for even Test matches series, we recently lost vs New Zealand and South African teams?

~ Why Umar Amin was not considered for the five ODI matches against Australian team?

~Why Muhammad Amir has been given so many chances, when time and again, he has proved that he was a spent cartridge?

~Why players like Haris Rauf (LQ), Musa Khan(IU), Suhail Akhtar(LQ), Awais Zia (KK), Ehsan Ali(QG) and Wahab Riaz [PZ] (who bowled fastest ball in the PSL-4) have been never considered and given chances to prove their mettle for the World Cup2019 squad?

~Why players for the five matches against the Australians have not been selected on the basis of fitness test, when previously even a senior player like Umar Akmal was dropped on the basis that he could not pass the fitness test?

Most of the cautious people will argue that now there was very little time left to make changes of management and team personnel for the World Cup, which will mean that we have taken defeat or poor performance of our team, at the ODI World Cup 2019, as fait accompli, whilst, you
as our dynamite leader and Prime Minister always motivated the nation by educating that one is never defeated, till the defeat is accepted.

So, why to accept defeat even before the World Cup has started? Action is always better than inaction. PCB must act fast; and act now.

If Pakistan has to have any remote chance of playing the final of the ODI World Cup 2019, the entire team management and the selection committee along-with the complete NCA staff, needs immediate replacement; and the following may be considered as replacements for suitable positions:

1. Viv Richards
2. Zaheer Abbas
3. Majid Khan
4. Wasim Bari
5. Sarfaraz Nawaz
6. JAVED Miandad
7. Mohsin Hasan Khan
8. Moin Khan
9. Amir Suhail
10. Dean Jones
11. Aaqib JAVED
12.Waqar Younis
13. Wasim Akram
14. Muhammad Yousaf
15. IQBAL Wasim
16. Abdul Qadir
17. Mushtaq Ahmad
18. Rashid Latif

Do not leave New Zealand alone..!

Terrorism is the scourge of the world and must be eliminated with all the strength at our disposal.

The decision of the some of the ICC members not to play cricket in Pakistan (on the pretext of security situation) after the 2009 incident of attack on the bus carrying Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore, was a signal of weakness and helped playing straight into the hands of the terrorists, which not only gave a sense of a victory to the criminals, but was also a message that terrorism, pays.

Whereas, on the other hand, the world never stopped visiting Germany for tourism and sports after the:

~ 1972 Munich Olympics bloodbath (17 people killed including 6 Israeli Sports coaches and 5 Israeli athletes.)

~ The Oktoberfest bombing was a terrorist attack with a right-wing radical background. On 26 September 1980, 13 people died and 211 were injured after the explosion of an improvised explosive device (IED) at the main entrance of the Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. The attack is considered to be the deadliest attack in Germany since World War II. The attack was attributed to the right-wing extremist and geology student Gundolf Köhler who was killed while placing the explosive device; however, doubts remain as to whether he acted alone.

~ On 22 July 2016, a shooting occurred in the vicinity of the Olympia shopping mall in the Moosach district of Munich, Germany. Ten people, including the perpetrator, were killed and 36 others were injured. The shooting took place at a McDonald’s restaurant near the shopping mall, in front of a Saturn electronics store nearby, and in the mall itself. The gunman, later identified as 18-year-old David Sonboly, died nearby from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. His motive was unclear, but thought to be political due to his right-wing extremist stands, which would also explain the chosen date. The investigation concluded at first it to be an apolitical mass-shooting motivated by xenophobia, mobbing, and psychological issues. After publication of three individual assessments in 2017, which concluded that there was a political motivation to the shooting, and the perpetrator’s links to other school schooters became known, the investigative authorities reopened the investigations in April 2018, which continue.

~ Similarly, no one stopped for a moment, visiting Vienna (Austria) after the OPEC siege on December 21, 1975, when six militants attacked the semi-annual meeting of OPEC leaders in Vienna, Austria; the attackers took more than 60 hostages after killing an Austrian policeman, an Iraqi OPEC security officer, and a Libyan economist. Several other individuals were wounded. The self-named “Arm of the Arab Revolution” group was led by Carlos the Jackal. The siege resulted in complex diplomatic negotiations. It ended two days later, after flights to Algiers and Tripoli, with all the hostages and terrorists walking away from the situation. The fact that this was one of the first times that Arab states were targeted by terrorists. Saudi oil minister Zaki Yamani and the other OPEC ministers were taken hostage by notorious terrorist Carlos (the Jackal) in Vienna, Austria. The hostages were released after two days riding an airplane across North Africa, even though Carlos was ordered by his superiors to execute Yamani and his Iranian counterpart Jamshid Amouzegar.

~ Also no one ever stopped visiting Britian for sports and tourism despite bombings that took place in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain since 1969. There were at least 10,000 bomb attacks during the conflict (1969–1998).

~ During the 27 years civil war in Sri Lanka (1983-2009) over two hundred thousand people were killed but normal sports activities and tours of foreign cricket teams continued. Even Cricket World Cup matches were held in Sri Lanka without any untoward incident.

~ In India during huge terror incidents, never once, any sporting team cancelled or shortened its tour from the country. Here it may not be out of place to mention that in the World’s list of terror incidents India has been always ranked among the top ten countries, but no sporting team declined to tour India.

~ It is very satisfying that since 2017 national cricket teams of Zimbabwe, West Indies, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh (ladies) plus the World X1 players have toured Pakistan and found it the most peaceful and secure place to play sports in any city of the country. Moreover, since 2017 many foreign cricketers, umpires and other officials (retired and active) have been to Pakistan in connection with Pakistan Super League cricket matches and confirmed that Pakistan was the most secure and comfortable country for cricket, other sports and tourism throughout the length and breadth of the country.

In view of the foregoing, it is earnestly hoped that the all sports organisations of the world, particularly, the ICC members will fully support New Zealand in its resolve to remain steadfast in defeating the terrorism; and keep on playing in New Zealand all the scheduled sports events and matches in the country despite today’s (Friday 15 March 2019) most abhorring and dastardly terrorism incident in their city of Christchurch, where almost 50 peaceful Muslims offering Friday prayers in two different mosques of the city, were most brutally massacred (which was also telecast live over the Internet in most gruesome manner which ashamed even the holocaust).

It is earnestly hoped that the ICC members must not make the same mistake with New Zealand, which they made with Pakistan, by declining to send their teams, which in fact, was the fulfilment of the aims of the terrorists, to isolate this country (Pakistan), which was the flag bearer of the fight against the world’s longest war on terror, ever fought over this planet.

Pakistan should be rewarded not punished for steadfastly and alone fighting and winning the war on terror for 18 continues years, where troops and resources of 49 NATO countries led by the full might of the USA, failed to defeat the scourge of terrorism and left Afghanistan, one by one, after even paying money to the enemy, to not to attack their soldiers.

Pakistan (which is as safe as any other country of the world but where world’s best Presidential style security is provided to the visiting sports teams) has been unnecessarily made to suffer by the policies of the some ICC members, which obviously played into the hands of the Indian propaganda) who on one hand, admit committing terror activities in Pakistan, as part of the Indian defensive offensive doctrine of their National Security Advisor Ajit Doval; and on the other hand, leave no opportunity for using sports, as a political tool, about which now IOC has already very swiftly and strictly taken action against entire sports bodies of India; and forthwith banned holding of any sports events to be organised in India, under the auspices of the IOC. It is high time now for the ICC to take the same punitive action against the BCCI for politicising the glorious game of cricket, in line with the policies of the International Olympic Committee and charter of the ICC, as well.

In view of the foregoing, now a time has come for the major ICC members like ECB, ACB, Cricket SA and NewZealand Cricket Board to immediately resume sending their teams to play in Pakistan, which as explained above, is comparatively much more secure country than Germany, Austria, France, UK, Ireland, India, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & even the USA (remember terror strike bombing in the Atlanta Olympics USA of Centennial Olympic Park which was a domestic terrorist pipe bombing attack on the Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 27 during the 1996 Summer Olympics. The blast directly killed 1 person and injured 111 others; another person later died of a heart attack).

Out of last 10 ODI matches our team won only 2 matches (20%) & Sarfaraz Ahmad scored 292 runs of 17 innings in 13 months of (2018-19) averaging 24+ with 5 not outs.

In this regard, during the recently held Asian Cup tournament played in the UAE in September 2018, our team got unforgettable thrashing from the Indian B team (Virat Kohli was not playing) which defeated our hapless team in a manner, margin and style which may be very difficult to forget, detailed as below:

On 19 September 2018 India defeated Pakistan with 8 wickets by bowling out our team for 162 runs in just 43.1 overs and achieved the target in ONLY 29 overs.

Test match strategy, planning and mindset can never work in an ODI game, where name of the game is attack, innovation, positive approach in team selection, batting, bowling, fielding and staying one step ahead of the opponent’s game plan and strategy.”
Unquote.

Respected Imran Khan Sahab, although, being the Prime Minister it is too much to request you to indulge in the nitty gritty of cricket affairs, yet, the next ODI World Cup is too serious an affair to be left with the current PCB management, which may be very much sincere with its job, but it looks reclaiming World Cup for Pakistan, is too big a job for them, for which they have somehow been in an inertia, since September last; and very clearly, it is visible that they look afraid of media, in making bold and corrective decisions, in the larger interest of Pakistani cricket.

In view of the foregoing, you are once again (for the last time) requested to takeover the reigns of the PCB in your own hands and urgently intervene for a vital course correction, so that Imad Wasim (Captain) or any person you think is a captain material & Aquib Javed/Amir Suhail (Head Coach) may be considered for these positions with a cut out task to bring the World Cup back, under your leadership, otherwise forget about even reaching the semi finals stage.

All is not well with our cricket team..!

Today Pakistan scored 207/4 in 90 overs on the first day of 2nd Test vs NZ at Dubai cricket stadium at RR of 2.3 per over, which is one of the lowest score on the first day of a Test match.

Last time when Sami Aslam was dropped for the West Indies tour, despite having an average of 56 runs repeat 56 runs, during the previous tour to England; and instead Shan Masood was selected with an average of 12 runs repeat 12 runs in the same English tour: I asked Mr. Inzamam-ul-Haq the reason for dropping Sami Aslam as an opening batsman, surprisingly, he replied that Sami Aslam was dropped from Test team, because he scores runs very slowly.

Today coach and captain again selected our team with defensive frame of mind by including only 4 bowlers for a 5 day Test match whereas, New Zealand team management entered the field with 3 pacers and 2 spinners.

In cricket, matches are not won by packing maximum number of batsmen. Rather, the team must be balanced and attitude also must be positive and mind set aggressive.

In this regard, we are reminded of a famous quote of Mr. Imran Khan that playing for a draw was a sure recipe for defeat.

As such, it is high time that the PCB must get rid of the entire selection committee, the all coaching team members and the captain, as well, before a debacle hits us in the ongoing series vs NZ and our team is blown to smithereens by the South Africans in the tour starting from next month and we should also not wait for 2015 ICC World Cup like another debacle.

Rather, we must aim, plan and prepare (link:-https://www.snayyar.com/how-to-win-the-icc-odi-world-cup-2019.html#sthash.nwCHp5DB.dpbs ) for winning the 2019 ICC World Cup
