THE MANAGEMENT TIP OF THE DAY: Harvard Business Review

February 9, 2015

Keep High Performers Happy by Offering More Feedback

High performers are immensely valuable to any company (they can be four times as productive as average performers), but managers need to look out for their wants and needs to keep them from seeking greater challenges, growth, and rewards elsewhere. One big contributing factor to their job satisfaction is feedback. How often do you sit down with your employees to discuss their performance? Chances are, not enough. Many high performers say they expect at least a monthly sit down with their managers, but only 53% say their managers deliver on their feedback expectations. So if you’re relying on annual or semi-annual performance reviews as the primary feedback mechanism with your employees, your high performers will likely begin to feel underappreciated. Set up regular check-ins and ask how you can support their learning and development. Lay out their options for career advancement, and give stretch assignments to help them gain diverse experience.

Nasir Jamshed is a zero level player if we see his recent past performances. Plus he is a BIG liability in the field and known weakest fielder of the WORLD. Hope the PCB remembers I gave the name (in my proposed team for the World Cup 2015) of Sami Aslam (LH batsman) as opener with fearless Awais Zia.

Today Sarfraz Nawaz strongly advocated for Sami Aslam in lieu of Hafeez.

Now, mark my words that Misbah, Sohaib Maqsood, Afridi, Younis and Wahab Riaz are not fully fit and may b coming back during the ensuing days.

So the PCB must consider Imran Khan (Right arm pacer) , Sami Aslam, Imam ul Haq, Hasan Raza (young spinner and a good batsman) & Muhammad Sami (fastest bowler in the country) as replacements, if such need arises, rather than sending SIFARISHI players to Australia.

“All of life’s lessons you have been through is only a preparation for what is about to happen in your life. If the experience brings you joy, much wisdom has prepared you for this journey. If it brings you sorrow, remember lessons will keep striking you at your weakest point because that’s what needs most strengthening.”

In nature, language is what sets us apart from the animals. In business, it’s what sets true leaders apart from perpetual followers. That’s because communicating effectively can make all the difference.

Kudos to Mr. Shahbaz Sharif CM Punjab

Sir,

This is to specially thank you with profound appreciation for considering my very important public interest request (submitted in Dec. 14) in a very swift manner, to control the heinous activities of unscrupulous persons, selling HARAM and dead meat to the general public, with the use of IT based solution, which may kindly be publicised as much as possible, by ordering mandatory display of posters at all shops.

Moreover, special raids should also be conducted at all hotels, bakeries & marriage halls to curb mass use of dead chickens and reuse of old unconsumed food.

Best Regards,

Syed Nayyar Uddin Ahmad
