Selectors Selection

Hardly one or two batsman and two or three bowlers, from our ODI squad, could find a place in the top five teams of the world.

Please just forget the results of the T20 series played vs Zimbabwe, because visitors team (which is actually a B team of Zimbabwe) is playing without 6 players, who were part of their World Cup squad. Moreover, Zimbabwe’s T20 team is just above the lowest 13th rank Scotland’s team and BELOW the teams rankings of Ireland and EVEN AFGHANISTAN.
Nevertheless, our team won only in the last overs of both the matches, with lot of uneasiness.

With Mr. Haroon Rashid as chief selector, we are 9th ranking ODI team not for nothing; and now our worthy selectors have dropped Mukhtar Ahmed and retained Shoaib Malik. Mukhtar Ahmad got back to back man-of-the-match awards and was named man-of-the-series, in the T20 series.

Here we must remember that Shoaib Malik’s score in the two matches was 7+7=14.
However, in the first match his scoring rate was 50% (7 runs in 14 balls) which was the lowest among all the batsmen’s of both the teams; and other team being the worlds almost weakest team.

Squad: Azhar Ali (C), Mohammad Hafeez, Ahmed Shahzad, Asad Shafiq, Haris Sohail, Shoaib Malik, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Sarfraz Ahmed (VC), Anwar Ali, Hammad Azam, Immad Wasim, Yasir Shah, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Sami, Junaid Khan.
