Don’t Let Stage Fright Derail Your Presentation

Public speaking often tops people’s list of fears. But most often, the audience is rooting for you and wants to hear what you have to say. If you use the presentation as an opportunity to teach and persuade (not as a way to show off your expertise), you’ll win them over. Remember that the physiological signs of stage fright – racing heart, clammy palms, churning stomach – are far less visible to the audience. You probably don’t look as bad as you feel. And if negativity starts clouding your thoughts – I’m a fraud, this talk is going horribly – counteract it. Tell yourself: I’m going to be fine. I am passionate about this topic. I’ve given this talk plenty of times. It might feel silly to speak to yourself this way, but positive self-talk really helps. Finally, ease up on your script a bit and speak from the heart. It helps to not sound too rehearsed.

Proposal for Proactive Counter Terrorism Plan

Media reports that still four terrorists are hiding in Lahore and hunt is on to nab them.

The sudden increase of acts of terrorism highlights the importance of preventive measures to curb this menace, which is causing severe losses to men, material and reputation of the country.

In the past cases of terrorist attacks on the GHQ, PIDC house & Pakistan Navy air base, it was reported that the gang of attackers was residing in a rented house for quite some time, in an area, not very far away from their targets.

It was also reported that the neighbors of these houses were although, suspicious of these tenants yet; they kept quiet and did not tip area police about their apprehensions.

Under the circumstances, there is a dire need for motivating general public, to remain extra -vigilant in playing their role of defending the motherland, by involvement of entire population of the country, to look out for the stay and suspicious activities of the terrorist, in their near vicinity.

As such, In order to make the stay of terrorists at any place almost impossible, it is proposed to actively involve the entire population to look out & hunt them.

This objective can be easily achieved, by the announcement (and its mass publicity) of the Government, that a reward of Rs. 50 millions (PKR 5 Crores) shall be paid to any person, who informs the Police or other Law Enforcement Agencies about the terrorist (s) staying in a house, hostel, hotel, rest-house or any such place.

If the war against terror is to be won quickly, the entire population of the country needs to be geared up immediately and involved in the task of watch and vigilance.
