Make Your Slides Memorable
When you present data, people in your audience don’t have time to pour through the numbers.
They need to quickly understand by glancing at the slide, reading the title, and looking at the basics of the visuals.
Don’t make it hard for them by making your slides complex. Start by asking, “What would I like people to remember about the data?” Give that point visual emphasis.
If you’re projecting a chart about sales trends over five years but talking specifically about how sales are consistently low in the first quarter, show the first-quarter bar in a bright color and other bars in a neutral tone, like gray. Deemphasize grid lines, borders, axes, and labels — you’ll provide that kind of context when you speak — and use contrast (color, size, or position) to draw the viewer’s eye to the meaning.
Today’s Management Tip was adapted from the HBR Guide to Persuasive Presentations.

An Interesting NDTV Report
A list of things left behind by passengers on a plane
Press Trust of India | Updated: June 02, 2013 11:27 IST
New Delhi: Books, spectacles, mobile phones and cameras are not the only articles that passengers leave behind in a plane; interestingly, they forget to take with them strollers, wedding rings and even artificial limbs.
Passengers also leave behind their valuables like smartphones, iPods, cameras, iPads, kindles and even laptops, a survey by UK-based Virgin Atlantic airlines has found.
The survey of airline’s cabin crew and ground staff found that majority of passengers forget to take with them articles like books, reading glasses, mobile phones, cameras, iPods, headphones, makeup kits, neck pillows, CDs and duty free shopping.
Surprisingly, items like wedding rings, baby strollers, shoes, passports and even artificial body parts were found left behind by the fliers, the airline said.
“Passengers leave all sorts of items on our flights ranging from the predictable to the quite unexpected. We were surprised to find an artificial limb left behind by one of our upper class passengers but were delighted that we were able to return them,” said Stephen King, General Manager, Virgin Atlantic-India.
He said many passengers start their vacation the moment they get on the aircraft.
When they relax and get into a holiday mood, they often forget personal belongings on-board, he said.
The airline tries to return the items to the passengers but any item not claimed for more than six months, if not perishable, is donated for charitable causes, he said.
Virgin flies to 36 destinations worldwide, including locations across North America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Far East and Australia.
The airline has daily flights from Delhi and Mumbai connecting to the UK and the USA via London. It currently has a fleet of aircraft of Boeing 747-400s, Airbus A340-300s, A340-600s and A330-300s.
The airline is expecting delivery of 16 Boeing 787 Dreamliners from 2014.
Mother of All Scandals
Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Sb.
Salaam.
Today (31 May, 2013) it has been reported that ministry of finance expects to earn $1 billion from the auction of 3G telecom license, during the first three months of your government. Link:- http://jang.com.pk/jang/may2013-daily/31-05-2013/u148138.htm
In this regard, some facts are placed before you to judge for yourself that why this telecom auction can and must generate much more than $1 billion.
PPP government finance minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, had budgeted a figure of ONLY $800 million income in the FY 2011-12 (this is on record and can be confirmed from the documents), for which auction was planned in March, 2012, for NOT ONLY 3G but 4G LTE and 5G LTE-A.
Just imagine 4G LTE and 5G LTE-A were to be given free with the auction of 3G. Whereas, in April, 2010 India ONLY auctioned 3G, for a whooping amount of $15 billion. Now after over 3 years, this figure almost may be equal to $20 billion.
Here, the question arises was Indian economy or telecom density size (at that time in 2011-12 when Pakistan went for the aborted auction) was more than 18.75 times bigger than Pakistan’s economy and telecom density? Sir, all this gap was to be made up with corruption and corruption alone.
Plus the mother of all corruption was the plan (clearly written in the tender that 4G LTE and 5G LTE-A license was to be given free along with 3G) to plunder the national wealth with future telecom technology licenses, to be gifted free of cost.
Here, again the question arises that when in the year 2004 Pakistan auctioned the 2G telecom license we didn’t give 3G license for free. And now when in 2012, we went for the auction of 3G, why advance technologies of the future were being given for FREE. (currently we are on 2G, whereas Kabul, India has 3G and Oman 4G LTE).
In view of the foregoing, I am more than 100% sure that now when we are entering middle of the year 2013, if the 3G (along with 4G LTE & 5G LTE-A) auction is done in an intelligent, smart and honest manner, Pakistan can very easily fetch anything between 2-5 billion USD.
Last but not the least, I would humbly like to inform that by the grace of Allah, first I single handedly convinced the government in 2011 to go for the auction of the 3G license. And, later on again in the year 2012, I had to wage a full fledged war to stop the government after the issuance of tender, to abort their nefarious designs and plans to indulge in mother of all corruptions.
In this regard, I had the FULLEST support from Senator Pervaiz Rashid and Ms Anusha Rehman & Prof. Ahsan Iqbal Sahab. Geo, Dunya & Ary TV media also fully supported me in this Jihad against the mother of all scandals. Moreover, Mr. Zahid Malik of Pakistan observer and Transparency International Pakistan, also played a very active part in stopping the government going the wrong way in this case. My salute to all these patriotic Pakistanis.
Best regards,

No Prime Minister Future is Not Ahead It Has Already Happened
Posted by Syed Nayyar Uddin on February 17, 2012 in My Views, Pakistan
Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Prime Minister of Pakistan, may we ask that you also being the leader of the house in the Parliament, when will you awake and sack your Minister for water and power for his contempt of the parliament, in telling the biggest lie of the year to the nation, that too, on the floor of the house, that electricity load shedding has been terminated.
Sir, believe me these silly persons have made your government and the PPP, look as the most irresponsible and callous government, ever witnessed by this planet.
People faced the hardships of all the load shedding of electricity, gas and water, they were also burdened with the price hikes of every conceivable item in their daily lives, they also put up bravely with all the law and order chaos and mega corruption scandals, but please don’t be so heartless, by further rubbing salt into their wounds already inflicted by your most inefficient government.
All the previous tenures of the dictators in Pakistan, look like an era of paradise, if compared with your regime of last four years.
In fact, now you and your government has become a laughing stock. Hope you remember that in early November, 2011 Dr. Asim, your another talented minister for minister for gas & natural resources, boasted that gas load shedding will end in the year 2012.
Mr. PM, then you have the audacity to say every now and then that there are conspiracies against the democracy. Sir, with this inept performance, who needs to conspire against you.
Remember, if you will not act, someone else will. Don’t create your own demise. Since, elections are almost due, it is humbly suggested to pull up your socks and start delivering immediately.
You and your government must know that future is not ahead of you, it has already happened. Unfortunately, it is more ruthless and callous, then all of you combined in the government. It grinds slowly, but it’s mesh is very very fine.
With best of the hope that you will act, before it’s too late. You are not only the Prime Minister of your party, but of the great and the only Islamic nuclear country called Pakistan.
This country is a gift of Allah and I have full faith that anybody causing harm to Pakistan, will not only be destroyed, but there will be no one left to remember his name.
