Action Plan for Economic Salvation of Pakistan

Posted by Syed Nayyar Uddin on November 22, 2010 in Action Plan to Revive Pak Economy |

Security of Pakistan’s future depends in its economic growth & development. Moreover, we Pakistanis must know without any doubt, that the easiest and surest way of moving ahead, is to stand on our own feet.

Foreign aid, can keep us afloat but won’t allow us to swim. Biggest factor in any victory is self confidence. Anti thesis of terrorism is education, coupled with economic emancipation of masses.

As such, the nation must embark upon the following four point agenda, for the economic salvation of the country, without any further loss of time.

1. Request to all foreign donors for a 5 years moratorium, on all debt repayment by Pakistan.

2. 20% per annum reduction in all non-developmental government expenditures, plus total freeze in all perks paid from the national exchequer, involving foreign currency.

3. Increase in productivity & exports with liberal tax relief to industry, commerce & trade.

4. Set a target for 20% per annum increase in foreign remittances, by offering innovative incentives to expatriate Pakistanis.

We might have a million plans to make it work, but unfortunately the implementation is in the hands of those who cannot and would not do anything for the development of this country in any sector.

    • Cricket should not be banned with the reason of corruption or other unseen reasons, the cricket is a game it should be played within the rules as farmed by the PCB with strict monitoring on their individual performance , Further more the black sheep’s must be removed from the list of the players who are responsible to maligns this game as creating a bed name to Pakistan ,like other official of the Government or public representative ,they should submit their assets declarations forms without any discriminations before joining the game as well as at the end of every financial year in order to snub the corruption or malpractices among the players if any player should involve in any malpractices then he must be trial under the same rules and procedure s as laid down in anti-corruption Act and Accountabilities Act 2000 besides of others punishments

    • I do believe that your analysis tic approach may be as accurate as your version I agree completely that change in people behavior can be very difficult and that people do tend to maintain the same behavior patterns, but it’s far from impossible. We make improvement even harder by believing that it isn’t possible.

  • @Sanaa Khalid: Thanks for being the 1st to offer comments on an important subject. As they say plans never fail, we fail to plan.

  • Asmatullah Niazi says:

why not tax on agriculturists who are growing day and night. and one thing we must remember, without new social contract and land reforms we can not progress.

  • @Asmatullah Niazi: Kindly write a proposal for the betterment of future of Pakistan, on new social contract and land reforms.

  • Asmatullah Niazi says:

Social contract means new constitution, it has to be done by legislature, but honest one. And land reform should be part of social contract. we are wasting our land resources, see Lahore Islamabad and other cities A class agriculture land is being converted into concrete farms instead of for food security. So get start now sir otherwise it would be too late.
